The Bad News:
As many of you know Mrs. Brick By Brick and I were set to be induced on Wednesday, March 13th. However the hospital literally called us Tuesday evening March 12th (12 hours before start time) to inform us that they were slammed with emergency C-sections and could not take “elective surgeries” (Since we decided to induce).
They rescheduled us for the following morning at 0715, but called at 0630 right as we were walking out the door and informed us that they were at full capacity and could not take on our “elective surgery.”
Needless to say it was pretty damn frustrating. I understood that care for patients comes first I really did and I also understood there was something in the air last week that apparently sent a lot of women into delivery. Who knows, maybe this was the wave of the 50 Shades of Grey babies. But as a professional organization they should have plans in place for situations like this.
If you happened to read this far and are familiar with the medical industry/hierarchy, who can I write a letter to and call voicing my concerns?
The Good News!
Our son was born (naturally) on Friday March 15, 2013! Him and Mrs Brick by Brick are both very healthy. In fact Mrs. Brick By Brick must have set a world record, she only pushed 3 times!!! The nurse literally had to yell at the doctor to look up because he had looked away for a brief moment to grab some supplies. It was crazy! We are all home now trying to get a rhythm/routine going and of course I’m trying to see how soon I can be 100% operational with this blog again. =)
I apologize for the short list of link love. I promise there will be more to come next week!
