Personal Capital just launched the latest version of its iPad app. If you’re a savvy investor, this is a major upgrade that you don’t want to miss. Interactive tools, payment features and a sleek design are just the beginning.
The Personal Capital app for iPad makes it easy to link all of your financial accounts to your secure Dashboard. This gives you with a complete view of your finances. Simply slide elements to see more information and tap to display additional account details. Track everything from spending to savings, credit card transactions to balances, investment performance to fees, and much more.
Your Net Worth
The new Net Worth feature now allows you to create manual portfolios or track the value of fixed assets or liabilities such as your home, a car, jewelry, a stamp collection or even a personal loan. “If it’s part of your total net worth,” says Jim Del Favero, Chief Product Officer at Personal Capital, “you can add it in this section.” Once you link these accounts you can view them as a whole, group by type and edit account details to customize your experience even further.
Track Your Spending
This app makes it incredibly easy to monitor your income and spending. Track your Cash Flow in just seconds by toggling between the app’s income and spending categories. Want to pinpoint a particular spending pattern? Tap a particular category to see a list of the vendors you frequent. Want to customize your experience even more? With just a few taps, you can edit transactions by giving them a new name, a specific tag or changing the category altogether.
New Feature – the You Index™
Stock indices are nice to gauge the performance of the market as a whole, but what you really want to know is how your holding performed. Within the Holdings tool, we now include the “You Index™”.
“This feature is exclusive to Personal Capital and creates an even more unique experience for each user,” says Del Favero. “When you link your investment accounts to Personal Capital, the system automatically creates a “You Index” and compares your investment performance to the performance of major market indices, including the S&P 500, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the NASDAQ.”
A Checkup for Your Money
Personal Capital’s Investment Checkup tool is now accessible via iPad. Compare your current situation versus your target allocation. Want to adjust your target allocation? Just drag the slider to change your age, years to retirement and risk tolerance. Instantly determine whether you are over- or under-weight in a particular sector. Personal Capital helps make more informed investment decisions.
Go one step further with the Personal Capital Mutual Fund Fee Calculator. This shows you how much you are spending in mutual fund and ETF fees – and a few swipes will show you how much you could stand to lose to fees over time. Tap to group funds by type or account and sort to see which funds have the highest expense ratio and which cost you the most on an annual basis.
