This post has absolutely nothing to do with investing or personal finance. In all honesty this is probably the only selfish post you will ever see me write. I have a problem….
There I said it!
Approximately two years ago I got into a horrible habit. I was heavy into trading currencies and commodities which traded on 24/7 markets and required my constant attention. After a while I could no longer stay awake on will alone so I started supplementing with Monster Energy Drinks! On top of the birth of our daughter this substance has been a staple in my diet. For months my wife has been begging me to cut back but my self discipline has been absolutely pathetic. Then… boom! I find an email from my wife in my inbox with a link to a yahoo story.
And that brings me to this blog post. It’s a way for me to have some accountability with my goal to go Monster free for 90 days. I don’t know what it is, but for some reason when my friends and family know I’m pursuing a goal I become a lot more determined to accomplish it. I picked 90 days specifically to allow time for the withdrawl process along with the temptation and self discipline process as well.
I will be keep track at the bottom of blog posts with a simple ticker:
“Days without incident: 0”
Here’s to our wealth AND HEALTH!
***UPDATE Nov 3, 2012***
I had a relapse, I was literally on E and needed to get tons of stuff done. I was dragging from staying up late and raiding the Halloween candy stash in our house. No excuses… back to day 0
***UPDATE Nov 10, 2012***
We’re currently getting ready to close on a house that we’ve had built. It has been one of the most frustrating things I’ve dealt with since the birth of our daughter. I’ll be glad when it’s all done and over. It goes without saying that I need to fuel the extra hours I’m up with Monster… FML … back to day 0
